Primary technical and product references
- W3C CSS Values and Units: absolute lengths — fixed unit relations used for deterministic declared-unit conversion. This captured source is a Working Draft; it does not establish consumer-specific import behavior.
- W3C SVG 2: document structure — outermost SVG width, height, and intrinsic sizing semantics.
- W3C SVG 2: coordinate systems — viewport,
viewBox,preserveAspectRatio, transforms, and the distinction between a viewport and a bounding box. - LightBurn SVG import settings — documents 96-DPI and 72-DPI choices. It does not make either choice a universal repair or verify a particular import result.
- LightBurn 2.2 Early Access changes — retained only as evidence that importer behavior can be version-sensitive, not as a stable-release baseline.
- Inkscape CSS96 project note — historical 90-to-96 px/in context; not a LightBurn behavior guarantee.
Claim boundary
SVGViewport reports root/header evidence and explicit unknowns. It does not calculate occupied geometry or stroke bounds, run LightBurn, validate an imported size, prescribe a file rewrite, or verify a physical cut size.
The mathematical 72-DPI candidate is shown separately from the CSS 96 px/in conversion. The 0.75 and 4/3 relationships are consequences of those two conventions, not recommended fixes for an arbitrary file.
